Excel staff have created a song as part of its campaign to increase the numbers of foster carers registered with the independent fostering agency.
The song Santa Stop Here, serves as a reminder that during the holiday season many children will be feeling anxious and worried, either because they will have been placed with a new foster family, which can be quite daunting, or in many cases have not been able to be placed with a family due to the shortage of foster carers.
The Department of Education recently released a report detailing the number of children looked after in England and stated that there’s over 75,000 children in care, with 13,220 of these children residing in the North West of England.
The latest figures show that there are 533 children and young people in the Blackpool local authority area who are in need of a home.
Staff are passionate about building brighter futures and foster carers have an important role to play to help provide support that allows them to change the lives of these children in care and would encourage anyone thinking about fostering to come forward.
